Reef HQ Aquarium is the world's largest living coral reef aquarium. The Living Systems Team requires casual divers/aquarists to assist with diving duties. A copy of relevant qualifications, licenses and certificates are to be supplied on submitting your application. Highly suitable applicants would have:
SCUBA diving certification (must have a minimum dive qualification of Divemaster or ADAS)
A current Occupational Diving Medical (AS2299.1)
A current nationally recognised First Aid Statement of Attainment, and a current CPR and Oxygen Administration Statement of Attainment

Reef HQ Aquarium is the National Education Centre for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. Reef education programs are facilitated to students at all stages of learning. Casual education staff may work across a number of areas including assisting with the delivery of reef education programs for visiting school groups during the day, facilitating reef sleepovers at night and running children’s school holiday programs. Some casual education staff also work as tour guides delivering the daily program of talks and tours at Reef HQ Aquarium. Casual education staff who also possess the relevant scuba diver qualifications may also undertake diving duties to support Reef HQ Aquarium’s reef videoconferencing program.
Highly suitable applicants would:
Have well-developed communication skills, including the ability to present talks and tours or education programs to groups of people of all ages from children to adults.
Have a very good understanding of the marine environment.
Hold or be willing to apply for a "Blue Card" issued by the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian and indicates that a person is eligible to work with children and young people in Queensland.
A current Senior First Aid Certificate, including current CPR and Oxygen Administration training.
Be flexible with working hours that may include working weekdays, weekends, during the daytime, evenings or overnight when required.
Possess Scuba diving qualifications (desirable but not essential). Scuba divers must have a minimum dive qualification of Divemaster or ADAS Aquarium Diver.
