Job Summary: Since 1998 the company has been providing services to the telecommunications infrastructure industry. In 2008 the company expanded to include Safe Dig Vacuum Excavations (“Safe Dig Services”) to provide underground utility locations and vacuum excavation services to the construction industry and local government authorities. Head Office is based in Sumner Park, based in Brisbane.

Job Details: The Vacuum Truck Operator/Driver is responsible to operate and drive one of our state of the art Hydro Excavation units. Hydro-vac excavation is a mechanical means of using water to break up earth that is simultaneously removed by a powerful vacuum.

When utilised properly this method is a safe, non-destructive means of excavation. Safe Dig Services personnel are trained in safe practice procedures and are equipped with the tools to enable safe excavation.

The areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:Successfully and professionally complete hydro excavation projects including under ground service exposure (potholing), debris removal, slot trenching, and digging. Ensure health and safety is the number one goal by following policies and procedures, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
Drive company vacuum trucks to and from work-sites safely including load management and regulated waste requirements.
Inspect job site for any safety concerns or hazards including traffic management requirements.

Safely set up and breakdown equipment. Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Ensure customer and client satisfaction by providing excellent customer service at all times.

Ensure all environmental requirements are met including fire ant management, sediment control and disposal of waste.Ensure vacuum truck and components are in good working condition at all times by performing pre and post trip inspections,following company policies and procedures for routine maintenance and performing general housekeeping. Report any inefficiency to Supervisor.

Complete all necessary paperwork such as works dockets and time-sheets properly and within set time lines including driving logbook when required.

Perform other duties and tasks assigned from time to time as required by the needs of the business.

OPERATOR REQUIREMENTS Technical Current MR or HR Driver's license with good driving record. Construction Industry White Card essential.

First Aid Certificate and Confined Space certification also advantageous Mechanical ability desirable.

Personal Customer service and team oriented. Must be able to work safely at all times Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Able to bend,twist, lift & climb. Able to work independently and manage time effectively. Able to work extended hours when needed. Able to travel when needed.
