The position:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and results oriented team within our Pathology Business Area. This role will be responsible for providing excellent technical support to customers nationally, both on-site and remotely, for Roche’s product range of Laboratory IT solutions. Reporting to the Support & Project Manager – Lab IT & Workflow you will use your expertise to:

Plan and provide customer interfacing support for connection of Roche equipment to middleware or customer Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
Provide rapid and efficient resolution to IT communication problems involving Roche platforms or middleware solutions to both internal and external customers including participation in an ‘after hours support’ roster
Provide on-site and remote support to install, configure, test and assist with ‘go-live’ for customer projects and product implementations
Engage with Regional and Global support services for expert advice when required
Deliver appropriate IT solutions training nationally, to meet internal and external customer commitments
Project manage, collaborate and/ or provide support on selected Laboratory IT and Workflow solutions projects

To be successful in this position, our new team member will be able to demonstrate the following:

Graduate qualifications in Electronics/ Telecommunication Engineering or Biomedical/Computer Science, with special emphasis on Information Technology subjects
At least 5 years of experience working in related fields within the medical diagnostic industry
Proven track record in Data Connectivity troubleshooting and resolution
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Pathology workflow, common business rules used, and a clear understanding of general Pathology IT infrastructure (mandatory)
Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, storage, networks, operation systems, platforms and configurations would be desirable
Knowledge of ASTM ,HL7 and POCT protocols (desirable)
Knowledge of coding and scripting (desirable)
Desire to contribute in a team environment, use of initiative and the ability to work independently with a passion for providing superior customer service
A current driver’s license (mandatory)
