THE ROLE

Origin Energy is seeking a Tanker Driver to join the small positive team and provide the effective and safe delivery of LPG to domestic and commercial customers around the Alice Springs area.

The main activities are road tanker filling and discharging and/or exchange cylinder deliveries or hose attendant duties as required. As you will be dealing with customers on a daily basis, we’re seeking someone with a great customer relation skills.

The position is required to operate the LPG Tanker and/or Cylinder Truck in accordance with statutory requirements and the HSE and procedural policies and procedures of Origin Energy. The range of activities may include:

Road tanker filling and discharging
Reporting Customer compliance
LPG Storage
LPG transfers
Cylinder delivering filling and testing
Forklift operation
Fleet compliance
Safe Operation of a Dangerous Vehicle

IS THIS YOU?

A minimum of two years driving experience in a technical and/or operational environment.
Handling Hazardous Substances, with particular emphasis on Hydro Carbon products.
Inspections and preventative maintenance of Heavy Vehicles.
Handling Hazardous Substances
Experience in the LP Gas or Fuel Industry
Gas appliance use and operation
Able to study for and attain Certificate III - Transport and Distribution.
National Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence - Relevant to the class of vehicle being operated. Minimum Class of HR.
Dangerous Goods Licence - Minimum of LPG Tanker Operators Licence, but preferably a full Dangerous Goods Licence, incorporating Class 2 Flammable Gases.
As part of the recruitment process you will be required to undergo a full medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
