Mastercard’s Summer internship program 2020 is a 10 week program developed for emerging professionals to gain hands-on work experience and learn more about Mastercard. Interns are assigned to a manager with a core set of project work. In addition, various events are conducted during the program including, speaker series, volunteer day and business projects for the interns during the summer.
HR Business Partnership support leaders in ANZ (Australia and New Zealand) to deliver their people agenda and execute on the market strategy.
The HR Intern will work closely with all HR BPs on HR initiatives and deliverables. At the conclusion of their HR Internship they should have knowledge of the following:
Annual compensation and benefits planning (CAS)
The role and value HR brings to an organization
Understanding of the different career paths and functions in Human Resources (BP, CEO, GBSC, TA, Mobility)
Projects you may work on are:
Work on a project proposal for HR induction for new joiners
Participate in HR policy review process
Assist with wellbeing activities and employee communications
Work with facilities to improve and document the email distribution list process
Prepare and present recent key legislative changes to employment law and proposed future changes for 2020.
Summer intern managers actively participate in the following throughout the 10 week internship:
Equip interns with the tools needed to be successful in the internship
Ensure Interns develop a broad understanding of Mastercard’s businesses
Provide ongoing feedback throughout the 10 - 12 week program. We recommend a weekly 1:1 manager meeting
Participation in the performance review process guided by HR and comprised of:
Mid-point evaluation
End of summer evaluation
While we do recruit both non-graduating and graduating intern into our program, the Summer Intern Program is the primary talent pool feeder for the full time Mastercard Launch: A Graduate Program.
All About You
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Education - Final year of Bachelor’s Degree (Human Resources/ psychology or similar majors)
Ability to work on a team and independently
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Languages: English required
