THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for a talented & motivated Software Developer to join our expanding Digital Technology Solutions team based in Cameron Park, Newcastle. You will be a key player in our IoT team, adding value to both internal and external clients through Data Science, analytics and visualisation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will build software solutions and technologies, working closely with our electronics engineers, systems integration experts, IoT Development Team and IoT Solutions Manager to design, develop and data storage/visualisation and analytics elements as part of our digital technology solutions. You will have responsibility to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain these cloud based data solutions. You will also:


Apply Storage, Database, Aggregation models and collection techniques and technologies in business
Design and build Data Pipelines using streams of IOT data
Employ statistical and data visualization tools and technique
Develop and exploit ‘in-house’ product intelligence and expertise regarding customer needs, to identify potential new differentiated customer and market opportunities
Translate customer / application use cases into software specifications
Assist Product and Delivery teams to ensure designed solutions are developed and deployed effectively to meet objectives
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Ideally, you have experience preparing and storing data for Data Science and Machine Learning with NoSQL DB technology as well as a proven track record of developing pipe lines for this data that utilises the latest cloud based technologies to perform ML/AI/Analysis and derive value-add outcomes for business and customers.


Or, you are an experienced software developer with a great attitude that is looking to move to the latest technology in the rapidly growing IoT field.


Qualifications in Computer Science, Computer, Software or Electrical Engineering OR other formal software qualifications with extensive development experience
Strong understanding of SOLID principles
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with at least 1 of BigData, ML, Analytics, IoT, Javascript, MongoDB or Google Cloud
An appreciation of good vs bad GUI design
A keen interest in learning new technologies and the ability to adapt quickly
Experience working within industrial or utilities environments desirable but not essential
Current driver’s license
