As Brock Solutions continues to grow and respond to the on-going requirements of major clients, we are growing our presence in Australia. We are currently seeking a full-time Software Application Support Specialist to join our team working out of Sydney, Australia.

As a member of the Sydney Account Team, you will work with other talented controls engineers, software programmers, service engineers, project managers and customer team members to support and maintain our installation of SmartSort controlling the baggage handling system at Sydney Airport.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily support to Sydney Airport to run and manage the bag room controlled by SmartSort
Proactive Maintenance of SmartSort solution
- Quarterly patching
- Contribute to Monthly Service Level reporting. Includes issue logging, associated resolutions and suggested solution
- Participate in Monthly Supplier service performance meeting
- Test disaster recovery plans on a yearly basis
- Interact with remote service team and level 3 support experts
- Troubleshoot a variety of software bugs, application deficiencies and performance issues
- Quickly Identify application problems to reduce end user impact
- Provide excellent customer service by communication thorough and diligent customer updates
Qualifications Required:
Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Programmer/Analyst, Software Engineering, or related field
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn new processes and technologies quickly
Capacity to remain calm, empathetic, and in control during stressful situations
Knowledge of Airport Baggage Handling Systems is an asset

Knowledge of the following is considered an asset:

Windows Servers
Web Servers and Web Services
Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL or Oracle DB (administration, and basic queries)
Server hardware and basic networking
VMware;
Programming Languages: C#, ASP.NET, C++, Java;
Interfaces to controls (OPC, Kepware, etc.) and HMI (FactoryTalk and Wonderware
