Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging and managing the expectations of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring engineering projects and tasks are well-coordinated and completed to agreed timeframes, and all relevant stakeholders are kept informed and appropriately consulted.

Job Details: They will also be responsible for leading the engineering function in the region, by providing and driving engineering solutions to staff and customer problems as well as ensuring positive stakeholder feedback internally and externally.

This role requires close interaction with not only the sales team but also customers. The incumbent will have a close interaction with the customer from the initial stages i.e. planning and design through to project completion.

The successful candidate must be able to:
- Analyze and summarise information, balance the sense of urgency, risk analysis and responsibility to make the best decision rapidly.
- Defend their position and get commitment from others
- Scope the work and accurately quote the project so customers are provided a competitive price. Close management of project expenses is crucial to ensure budgets are not exceeded.
- Consistently strive to achieve the customer's requirements. Challenge the status quo by promoting innovation and creative thinking.
- The incumbent will take ownership of projects/tasks and direct the team to ensure it is aligned with the Group's direction.
- Authorisation of work and expenditure for the Installation Team where these items are within budget of the team, or where management approved cost centre has been issued
- Prioritisation of workload
- Creation of project designs and costing for ACE submission

ABOUT YOU (Skills - Experience - Competencies):

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Business / Engineering)
- Min. 5 years relevant experience (IM Technical - Engineering, Installations, Maintenance)
- Experience in gas reticulation systems, pressure vessels, process control systems, oxygen systems, etc.
- Valid States Driver's License
- Computer literate
- Possess good solution-focused decision-making skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to mentor junior engineer/s
- Must be able able to challenge yourself in order to achieve the desired outcome, e.g. Manage competing priorities and maximize your own effectiveness.
