The Role

Cardno is committed to reinforcing its already strong capabilities in the ACT region. We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team in providing professional consultancy services in Civil Infrastructure.

Specifically, your duties will include:

Management of client relationships on allocated projects and new opportunities
Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to satisfy project requirements
Prepare and review tenders to help win work and contribute to a results orientated culture
Undertaking project management for a wide range of projects including land development, road infrastructure and other civil infrastructure
Project delivery of a range of projects to meet timeframe, budget and quality expectations
Coordinate with authorities and stakeholders to satisfy requirements and achieve handover
Assisting senior managers with business development activities
About you

You will be a proactive professional with the right combination of talent, energy and a commitment to technical excellence.

Additionally, you will display:

Appropriate tertiary qualifications with 3-5 years’ relevant experience in civil engineering/transport design and report writing
Design skills in 12d/Civil 3D will be an advantage
Strong understanding in compiling tender documentation (Bills of Quantities and Specifications)
Understanding and application of engineering concepts, procedures and activities
Intermediate level knowledge of Engineering drawing techniques (AutoCAD) with knowledge of 12d and Civil 3D an advantage
Thorough knowledge, or ability to gain thorough knowledge, of relevant design standards, legislation and Australian Standards
Demonstrated intermediate skills in relevant design software
Demonstrated intermediate skills in MS Office (Word and Excel)
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to develop, maintain and enhance internal and client relationships
Ability to manage small and well defined project phases
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form with clients, staff and managers
Ability to solve problems utilising existing procedures
Ability to apply concepts, principals and standards in well-defined areas
