Job Summary: As a Pathways and Outreach Officer you will be accountable for case management to people, offering guidance, support and linking them to support services to address any barriers to them engaging in learning.

Job Details:
There are two positions with a focus on three key areas:
Partnerships / networking with internal and external services
Pathway engagement and development
Maintenance of detailed casework records using office systems

Your key accountabilities will be to:
Engage with clients to discover their capabilities, skills, needs and aspirations for both learning and non-learning requirements
Identify and assess any barriers for learner success
Support work experience opportunities to boost employability skills
Facilitate successful transition to further education and training or employment
Develop strong relationships with service organisations, internal delivery programs and support services and external bodies such as local community networks, Learn Locals and schools within the region

ABOUT YOU

You will have a relevant Tertiary qualifications in the youth, community, employment, and /or education sectors /or extensive experience in providing high level of community service experience in case management within a complex environment.

Crucial to your success will be your proven track record in communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong interpersonal skills used in developing programs and information gathering from various sources.

You will be someone who will have:
Relevant experience engaging with disenfranchised learners, in particular those with diverse and multiple barriers to employment
Experience with individual case management of people at risk
Knowledge of the education, training, employment and wellbeing service system
Demonstrated experience in building positive professional relationships with service providers, employers, educators and the broader community to enable effective referrals for clients
Proven ability to assess learning and non-learning needs with experiencing in assisting individuals to remain in education and training
Demonstrated ability to be energetic, flexible, manage priorities and stressful situations, while monitoring own wellbeing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting and facilitation skills; intermediate (or above) office system skills, including databases and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Understanding and commitment to being non-judgmental towards people, their experiences and their choices
