Job Details:

The Role



This position sits within the City Development department of The City of Unley and reports directly to the General Manager, City Development.



Carrying a significant level of responsibility, you will manage a small team, ensuring the most appropriate, effective and efficient use of assets across The City of Unley, to meet community driven outcomes in line with the Council's strategic objectives. Working closely with other departments such as 'Operational Services', 'Urban Planning, Design & Traffic' and 'Property', you will integrate sound engineering advice and asset management expertise across various project initiatives.



The City of Unley is forward thinking in terms of how assets are managed and maintained. The asset management strategy, driven by this position, ensures assets are financially and environmentally sustainable, with clear levels of service defined, and appropriate maintenance programs delivered. Capital projects are also scoped, designed and delivered in a progressive manner to meet the strategic objectives of the organisation.

 

Some of your responsibilities will include the following:




  • Developing and maintaining Council's Asset Management Policy and Strategy across all infrastructure and open space related assets

  • Preparing and updating Council's suite of Asset Management Plans, including sustainable service levels, life cycle costing, and associated financial projections, and maintenance strategies

  • Improving the quality, reliability and usability of Council's asset information through active collection, manipulation and presentation of information

  • Refining and improving the Council's asset condition modelling capability and project prioritisation



Requirements



The position requires a high level of analysis, fluidity and ability to think on your feet. To be successful in your job application you will require the following:




  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as engineering

  • Extensive experience in Asset Management, particularly the development of asset management plans, asset registers, and Asset Management systems

  • Inclusive and engaging leadership style with experience managing a small to medium size team

  • Experience working with, managing, and providing advice to a range of technical staff, particularly field related
