Job Details: About the opportunity
As a member of the executive team of the Health Intelligence Unit (HIU), the Manager of Planning and Service Development develops and leads effective planning processes to facilitate, coordinate and manage strategic and service planning for the Western NSW Local Health District.

The Western NSW Health Intelligence Unit (HIU) is an established shared resource for health partners in the western NSW region, as defined by the Primary Health Network boundaries, and including both the Western and Far West NSW Local Health District regions and Bila Muuji Aboriginal health services.
The HIU provides a central hub of expertise to coordinate and provide analysis of data and interpretation of information to inform clinical / operational decision making and support a collaborative approach to health and social care planning, delivery and evaluation in Western NSW.
We are committed to providing our partners with a set of core Services to facilitate the delivery of a truly integrated system of care.
These include:
Analytics and Reporting Products and Services;
Advisory and Planning Services; and
Business Enabling Products and Services.

The key objective of the HIU is to provide analytic, research and evaluation services that will support the capability of healthcare organisations and providers across the region to interpret and use data and information to achieve their organisational outcomes as well as support a collaborative approach to health and social care planning, delivery and evaluation.

Planning, Performance and Funding Directorate, Orange Health Campus, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District.


To apply for this position, please address the following Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience at a senior level in a large and complex organisation engaged in healthcare or related service delivery.
Demonstrated skills and experience in the management of planning and service development projects, including needs assessment, data analysis and service evaluation within a health service setting.
Sound knowledge and understanding on organisational behaviour, change management and the development of organisational culture.
Demonstrated innovative conceptual and analytical problem solving skills for managing conflicting priorities and delivering successful strategies and solutions.
Demonstrated interpersonal, communication (written and oral), negotiation, influencing and motivational skills with a focus on building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary health issues, changes in national and international trends and emerging models of care and service delivery technology.
Commitment and capacity to implement and provide leadership on government policies and practices, including EEO, OH&S, cultural diversity, ethical practice and continuous improvement.
Current NSW drivers’ licence and willingness to travel for work on a regular basis f including overnight stays.
