An exciting opportunity is available for an IT Desktop Support Specialist to join the Youi Service Desk team. We are looking for someone who can apply their knowledge to real life situations and has a continuous hunger to learn and grow. This role would ideally suit a recent Graduate or an individual with 1-2 years IT support experience.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to IT Management, you will be responsible for IT Desktop Support across all our offices. A normal day may see you:
Offers troubleshooting, support, and repair when IT equipment or networks malfunction including daily maintenance of IT systems over the phone, via live chat or in person
Walks clients through solutions to solve problems and directs questions to supervisors or specialists when necessary
Demonstrates great customer service skills, listens carefully, and exercises patience
Documents daily tasks, training, and support sessions to inform the department and organisation better regarding IT support needs
Documentation of known fixes, bugs, assets and records of hardware and software.
Assists with maintaining information security through controlled hardware or software installation and staff education
Works with a team of installation, network, security, and support specialists in a fast-paced production environment where uptime is critical
Self-motivated to advance knowledge through online, in class or on the job learning
What you’ll Need to Succeed
A Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, theoretical or practical knowledge of computers, networks, software, and hardware
Microsoft suite of software and technologies in a desktop environment:
Experience with MS Server and SQL Implementation and Support
Experience with SharePoint, Exchange, WSUS,etc
Windows 10 Desktop Support with Deployment/SCCM and SOE creation skills
Familiar with MS Windows Active Directory and Domain Management
i.e. understanding DHCP, Group Policies, User Management, DNS, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of services, supporting MS Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online are preferential
A passion for the IT industry and a learning frame of mind
Effective communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex solutions in a simple and straight-forward way to all stakeholders
Time management, problem solving, critical thinking, written and verbal Communication Skill
