As our next Human Resources Manager reporting to the Mt Arthur Project Manager you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality human resource solutions and results. This project is in an exciting phase of growth and this role will be crucial in ensuring the project deliverables are achieved.

Location

Mt Arthur is located in the Hunter Valley, just outside Muswellbrook. This is a Monday to Friday residential role.

The Role

As the Human Resources Manager at Mt Arthur, you will be responsible for coordinating the full spectrum of human resources support to the team on site. This includes but is not limited to the coordination of performance and talent management, recruitment, industrial relations, HR analysis, HR systems, Company and client reporting and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

The primary function of this role will see you:

Work closely with the Corporate HR Team to provide overall direction, advice and support to the site leadership team and employees regarding human resource matters and activities
Work with the site leadership team to identify and agree to the current and future resourcing needs of the project
Identify and source appropriate staff training and development programs as required
Manage and support the performance management process for the project
Lead the implementation of diversity and inclusion initiatives across operation
Work with Corporate HR Team and Project Manager to develop an IR plan aligned to wider Thiess Mining IR strategy
Work with the site leadership team to embed the Thiess culture within the project, with a particular focus on the development of our people
Support and coach direct reports as required
This role is for someone who has the skills to influence at all levels of the Company and has the ability and drive to promote and uphold HR initiatives.

Role Requirements

To be successful in this role you are required to have:

Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources or a related field
Human resources experience in a mining or heavy industry environment
Strong computer skills including an advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office package
High level of oral and written communication skills
Effective problem-solving skills
High level of influencing, leadership and engagement skills with senior operational leaders
Demonstrated change management experience
Previous experience in Large workforce mobilisations will be highly regarded
