Description

This is a diverse and varied role where you will embed yourself with the senior management of the business. As an accomplished practitioner you will be able to demonstrate sound judgement and a commercial approach in the execution of your duties, coupled with providing strategic legal and regulatory guidance to the business with a can do attitude.

The key responsibilities of the role will be centred around management of an external panel of Lawyers and warehouse funding facilities, providing advice on the structure of these agreements. You will provide accurate and commercial legal advice on a range of general corporate and commercial matters along with forging and managing key relationships with regulators. As General Counsel you will be expected to manage all media release material, coupled with employment and privacy matters. Furthermore you will set up the initial operational assets needed to build a legal function including, document management, precedents and best practice procedures.

Profile

• Experience and understanding of consumer credit and the NCCP;


• Experience and relationships with ASIC, APRA, and the ACCC;


• Company secretarial and experience with AFS licensing will be regarded;


• Experience with warehouse lending arrangements.
