Visual Arts Teacher
D&T, ICT and/or Textiles an advantage
Commencing January 2020

Full-Time Permanent and/or 12 month positions available

Macarthur is an independent Anglican co-educational Transition to Year 12 school with
a strong academic and co-curricular focus catering for students of all ability levels. It is
located in picturesque Cobbitty on over 85 magnificent acres, 50 minutes from the CBDs
of Sydney and Wollongong. The School is highly regarded as an employer of choice and

The Headmaster is seeking to appoint appropriately qualified and experienced Christian
educators to these position within the highly professional, innovative, dynamic and
industrious Technology and Creative Design Faculty. The successful applicant will need to
be able to teach a variety of subjects within the Faculty across the stages with a particular
focus on Visual Arts.

Staff of Macarthur are beneficiaries of well-resourced facilities, an Apple laptop computer
(for the duration of employment) and a supportive Christian teaching environment.

Candidates for this role will be required to demonstrate:
a passion for teaching and a deep knowledge of the syllabus content;
an innovative approach to teaching and learning;
a comprehensive understanding of classroom differentiation;
a deep understanding of how students think and learn; and
a demonstrable love of and a portfolio showing personal visual arts projects.

The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate innovative use of ICT in teaching
and learning, proficiency in writing teaching programmes and an understanding of best
practice in student assessment and feedback. The desire to contribute to the outdoor
education and co-curricular programmes that provides a rich experience for our students
and a rewarding sense of job satisfaction for our teachers is imperative.
