Job Summary:
An opportunity now exists for a Finance Assistant to join the Executive team at the Ibis Melbourne Glen Waverley. Reporting directly to the Assistant Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accounts payable and receivable and financial reconciliation management for the Hotel.

Essential duties for the role include:
Job Details:
Verify invoices for accuracy and authorisations.
Ensure that vendor information is up to date in A/P module.
Ensure invoices processed in the A/P ledger are coded with the appropriate supplier and general ledger account codes.
Responsible for the accurate accounting of the Good and Services Tax in the A/P Ledger.
Follow and implement appropriate control measures to avoid duplication of accounting or payment of invoices.
Prepare payments in accordance with vendor payment terms and conditions.
Reconcile suppliers’ statement of account and follow up for any missing invoices.
Prepare accruals journal to cover all outstanding purchase orders and goods or services received without an invoice, re-occurring expenses.
Regularly monitor the A/P ageing report and follow up on any credit notes and/or missing invoices.
Applying payments and managing A/R, ageing and follow up on any outstanding debtors.
Assist with bank reconciliations.
Assist with end of month reporting
In order to be successful for this role, you:
Have unlimited working rights in Australia and demonstrate a genuine passion for Finance.
Are currently completing or have recently finished your qualifications in Finance and/or Accounting and wish to become a Certified Public Accountant.
Are naturally analytical and have the capacity to multi task. You cope well under pressure and have the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Are confident in communicating with various stakeholders as this role requires you to liaise with a variety of different groups at varying levels within our organization.
Knowledge of Sun System, Purchase Plus and Opera advantageous but not essential.
Authentic customer service, interpersonal & communication skills & be flexible in your approach to resolve issues.
