This position under general supervision of the Assistant Principal supports services within the school by providing broad management support through coordination of work activities within the school grounds. It will have a particular focus on the Maintenance area.

General Maintenance:

Manage and maintain College facilities on a day to day basis.
Ensure the College facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard,
garden beds pruned, watered and cleared of weeds and rubbish
asphalt and concrete areas are clear of leaves
gutters cleaned to allow stormwater dispersal
locker painting and furniture repair
Use a blower to blow leaves and debris from around buildings
Use Whipper snipper and hedging shears to trim foliage
Use ride-on mowers
Using a chainsaw to remove branches and limbs regarded as a risk to student safety
Undertake planting and landscaping as required
Assist on a daily basis the needs of all staff members and community that use the college, i.e. organise keys for relief staff, window repair, door and lock repairs etc.
Liaise with the Assistant Principal responsible for overall management of college facilities.
Provide high level advice on building program.
Ensure relevant OH&S policies and processes are maintained at all times in site with all contractors.
To manage significant areas of OHS responsibility within the school including asbestos management, the workplace risk register, and conduct regular workplace inspections.
Prepare the College buildings and grounds for special events such as open nights & parent teacher nights.
Book and engage specialist trades as required.
Perform preventative maintenance works, general works and repair in a fashion that reduces the requirement for engaging outside contractors.
Co-ordinate and record annual and regular inspections of College facilities.
Develop an annual maintenance schedule.
Manage employment of labour as required.
Photograph and repair any wilful damage to College property.
Attend security call out as required.
Administrative:

Maintain the College key system. Distribution and collection of keys as required, and accurate recording of keys against staff members.
Enter invoices onto the SMS system, and pass to Business Manager for payment.
