Job Summary: Townsville QLD Temporary Casual Disability Support Staff needed to assist with Christmas coverage. Supportive & reputable organisation.

Job Details: Your new company
Our client is an established and reputable support organisation, based in Mt Isa and committed to servicing the Greater North Western region.

Your new role
Reporting to the Centre Manager and working both in the main facility and in home care, your role will include but may not be limited to;

Assist people with self-medication
Implement care programs for those in residential establishments
Provide in-home support with health issues and daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, eating, transport and budgeting
Assist with the delivery of activities to enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of those in their care
Ensure that those in their care are washed, dressed, fed and ready for educational and recreational activities
Assist those in their care during domestic activities such as eating meals and showering
Provide companionship and support during daily activities
Organise refuge accommodation (if necessary)
Work with a team of health professionals, family, friends and carers to implement a program of support.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in obtaining casual/ contract work, you will possess the following qualifications, technical skills and personal attributes;
Certificate III in Individual Support, or equivalent qualifications. If you do not possess this qualification you must be enrolled in the course and provide proof of enrolment
Experience in working with high complex needs such as, risk taking behaviours, self-harm, other mental health issues such as PTSD.
Certificate in Alcohol and Other Drugs is highly regarded but not essential
Resilience, empathy and flexibility
Ability to work within a team environment and autonomously
Strong understanding of compliance and legislation in the industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Current Drivers Licence and reliable transport
Current Working with Children/Vulnerable People Clearances or ability to obtain
Current National Police Check or ability to obtain
