Job Summary: About the role The Director of Mission is pivotal in supporting existing ministry, focusing on ensuring our mission of ‘bringing the light of Christ into communities’ is achieved. The role is also about pioneering new ideas and ventures to advance our local churches and care services in fulfilling our mission. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will have operational responsibility for ensuring that the mission of the organisation underpins and informs all activities of the organisation. You will work closely with the CEO and other executives, to ensure this is evident. Providing strategic support and spiritual leadership development for local churches, chaplains and the communities we are engaged in, is an important aspect of the role. Our integrative communities model - where our housing service, seniors in independent living and aged care are co-located and supported by a chaplain, reflects our desire to see our mission in all aspects of our work. You would be supporting the development of new church plants and places where people can access the kingdom of God (Kingdom Access Centres) within our services. Churches of Christ in Queensland works with Stirling College in Victoria and Australian College of Ministries for ministry training. As local church ministry changes, we too are keen to explore new models of training such as mentoring to help grow our leaders for tomorrow. You will be someone who can help us develop new ministry training models in collaboration with our colleges.
