Job Summary: This is a conservation research initiative based in the South Australian outback and dedicated to the restoration of Australia’s arid lands. Established in 1997, the program is centred around a 123km2 fenced reserve. Feral cats, rabbits and foxes have been eradicated from a total of 60km2 and five species of locally extinct threatened mammals reintroduced. The remaining 63km2 of fenced compartments are the focus of innovative conservation research projects.

Job Details:
collection and collation of ecological monitoring data (including vegetation survey, track transects and vertebrate trapping),
community engagement through tours, events, market days, radio presenting and school visits,
written communications and fundraising,
administrative and housekeeping tasks,
fence and infrastructure maintenance and feral animal control, and
opportunities to undertake independent research.
