Principal Objectives  Manage and coordinate contracts to deliver a suite of services within the Community Services business
unit under Council’s ‘Caring for Community’ strategic initiative.

Challenges


Manage and maintain the Crèche at Jilkminggan, Manyallaluk and Beswick 

Coordinate through the crèche or Women centre respectively the School Nutrition Programs in
Manyallaluk, and Bulman. 

Manage, maintain and monitor a financially sustainable delivery model for Council’s Crèches and School
Nutrition programs to ensure contractual compliance. 

The geography of the Council poses many challenges to equitable distribution of services. The
Coordinator must ensure clients have access to a consistent level of care, learning and safety to
enhance learning opportunities. 

Encourage and increase community awareness, ownership and management of Education, Food
Nutrition and active learning activities. 

Provide employment opportunities for indigenous Australians to support and/or assist in the provision of
Crèche and School Nutrition Programs. 

Provide a range of educational, vocational and cultural programs. 

Deliver Crèche services in accordance to the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).

Including but not limited to : Educational programme and practice, Quality Improvement Plan for Quality
Area, Children’s Health and safety, Physical environment, Staffing arrangements, Relationships with
children, Collaborative partnerships with families and communities, Leadership and service
management. 

Manage the Crèche expected outcomes of Community Child Care fund (CCCF): improve early
childhood development outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, and increase workforce
participation by vulnerable and disadvantaged families. 

Provide services in accordance with the Child Care Providers Handbook and comply with Family
Assistance Law and National Quality Framework


Manage and deliver School Nutrition Program to support families to give children a good start in life
through improved early childhood development, care, education and school readiness, get children to
school , improve literacy and numeracy, support successful transitions to further education and work. 

Provide services to families, particularly to those who are vulnerable, disadvantaged or live in a
disadvantaged community, to improve family functioning and safety and child wellbeing and
development.

Special Conditions  An incumbent may be required to drive considerable distances in the course of their duties and must
possess a current Class C Drivers Licence with a manual driving capacity. 

Essential 

Prior to employment with Roper Gulf Regional Council you must obtain the following;

Undertake a new criminal history check at commencement of employment with RGRC
At commencement of employment hold a current Working with Children Clearance Notice (OCHRE
Card) or provide an application receipt for an exemption to be approved by SAFE NT prior to
commencing
Be an Australian Resident or provide the current, relevant Visa to work within Australia 

HR Department
Renew your ochre card clearance every two years through the HR Department
