As an Industry Expert or teacher, VCE, you will be accountable within the discipline of VCE for providing professional teaching expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for young adult learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve. This position focuses on excellence in learner support, teaching delivery and learning assessment.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle, to engage learners and meet their needs and learning styles
Ensure that teaching materials and resources meet all regulatory standards including Victorian Curriculum Assessment Authority (VCAA) VCE curriculum requirements
Provide learners with first hand expert knowledge and experience to enhance their learning and understanding of the subject being taught
Liaise as appropriate with specialist VCE subject networks and learning communities to ensure best practice
Understand VCAA course requirements and develop responsive, innovative educational solutions for learners
Work collaboratively with VCAA to ensure study design development aligns to VCAA guidelines and facilitate relevant and responsive delivery models that engage learners
ABOUT YOU
You will need to demonstrate:
Approved tertiary qualification in Education with a major in Biology and/or Environmental Studies
Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
Professional currency as required by the Victorian Institute of Teaching
Demonstrated knowledge and experience teaching in VCE Units 1-4 Biology and /or VCE Units 1-4 Environmental Studies
You are highly motivated, collaborative and flexible, with excellent communication and relationship skill and are able to use your initiative to implement out of the box contemporary learning programs that cater for different learning needs.
