Job Summary: Cranbourne VIC Casual

Job Details: This position is accountable for undertaking crop working activities associated within Hospitality, Tourism and Regional Educations’ National Precision Growing Centre at the Cranbourne Campus.

This role will focuses on delivering the high quality produce using production horticulture materials and resources. The position may also assist in the hosting of events, drawing upon knowledge and experience gained from the protected cropping environment, its processes and practices.

Your key accountabilities will be:
Undertake daily operations in crop maintenance
Assist with pest and disease management
Establish new crops
Implement and maintain correct Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) practices and procedures to ensure legislative requirements are met
Ensure Glasshouse area is secure at all times
Pick and prepare crops for market
Provide general assistance in the maintenance and setting up for classroom activities, functions and events
Monitor stock usage, assessing the usability of any unused stock, to ensure any wastage is minimised

ABOUT YOU

You will have relevant Certificate II in Horticulture or equivalent, whilst holding a valid Working With Children Check.

You will play a key and active part in the Hospitality, Tourism & Regional Education team that enables the continued standard of produce grown within the environment to be of marketable standard.
