The Role:


We are seeking a driven and passionate Business Development Manager to manage and develop business, maximising the market position of the Hotel, achieving and exceeding budget. Reporting to the Director of Sales,some of your key responsibilities include:


Establishing strong relationships with key accounts to maximise sales and loyalty for Sofitel Sydney Wentworth and the AccorHotels group.
Manage a multi-million dollar portfolio of key corporate, consortia and travel management company accounts
Pro-actively source new high yield business opportunities
Build out current accounts for Conference & Events opportunities
Represent the Sofitel Brand and the Accor group on sales calls
Host familiarisations, site inspections and high impact entertaining with existing and prospective clients
Submit required reports on sales activities, competitor information and new business
Proactively sell other Accor products and services
Working with other property based account managers to achieve more business for the hotels
Conduct presentations to consortia, call centers, professional conference organiser’s and bookers of accommodation
Negotiation of rates and terms and conditions
Work with the operational departments to ensure clear systems in place to achieve excellence in customer service and repeat business from managed accounts
Use of hotel PMS and Sales System
Work with the Marketing team to ensure the overall strategies of the hotel are achieved
Attend outside sales calls, tradeshows and meetings in the pursuance of the above

About You:

To be successful in this sought-after role, you will possess the following:

Ability to actively “hunt” and secure new business.
Results orientated and motivated attitude
Proven experience in a similar role
Consultative and solutions orientated
Immaculate professional presentation
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Exceptional client relationship management experience
A track record of success in upscale/luxury hotel sales is essential
Flexible with the desire to work and grow in a passionate & ambitious team.
