Job Details: The key Accountabilities & Attributes for this role comprise:
Business Development
Develop sales for Engineered Technical Packaging Solutions in the Military and Commercial markets – including but not limited to all military domains (Air, Land, Sea & Joint), Mining, Aviation, IT, Law Enforcement, Emergency Services, Medical, Infrastructure/Public Works and other market verticals.
Manage those sales opportunities through to order placement and handoff to the Project Manager for production.
Achieve the targeted revenue objective.
Contribute to the organisation’s ongoing product development process, leveraging existing solutions and developing new designs by finding end-user pain points Pelican can mitigate.
Work with the Channel sales team to plan and execute periodic sales briefings to educate, train, and stimulate to assist in finding bespoke packaging opportunities.
Contribute to the company’s regular reporting requirements.
Preparedness to accept and adapt to the evolution of this role as the company expands over time.
Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and employment agreement.
Perform special projects and additional duties as might reasonably be required by the Technical Packaging Business Manager or the Managing Director.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Business Management, Business Administration or an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) and preferably experience in a consultative sales role. Military service or experience in the Defence and/or Aviation industry will be well-regarded.
Involvement in the business community through networking, and continuing education/certification.
Previous extensive customer engagement experience selling industrial products, including experience developing military or industrial/commercial product solutions.
Ability to listen, engage, and influence people with sound logic.
Be able to develop clear, actionable steps from overall strategy & complete projects meeting deadline/budget.
Must be well-presented and an exceptionally good communicator who possesses excellent verbal, written, numeric, presentation and negotiation skills.
Excellent understanding of software programs, including SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Competence in CAD and/or other similar software will be well-regarded.
Ability to follow process and existing conventions and to provide sensible process improvement input.

This role could suit a Home-office situation if the right candidate is in NSW or QLD. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and require minimal supervision, but accept guidance from team members – including the Melbourne-based Design, Engineering & Production functions essential to the success of this position.
Full product training and ongoing career development will be provided to the successful candidate.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Some periodic travel will be involved in this position, hence the successful candidate must be able to travel nationally and internationally, as necessary.
