Job Details: The Organisation:
A mining company with assets in production and its corporate head office in Brisbane is currently recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant. This is a newly created role to provide improved support to the accounting team. You will be working for an organisation dedicated to a safe working culture and strong track record. The Position:
In this full time and permanent role, you will report to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for:
Journals, accruals, prepayments, general ledger reconciliations
End of Month/Year End reporting
Maintaining the general ledger
Tax compliance including BAS, Income Tax, FBT, transfer pricing
Bank reconciliations
Supporting the senior finance team with any audit documentation/queries
Your Profile:
You will either be working for a Chartered Accountant firm (Big 4) at an Intermediate or possible Senior level and ready to move to a commercial organisation or you will already have some commercial experience that you are looking to build on. You should have ideally commenced with a CPA/CA but it is not required that you have completed it. It is critical you are able to demonstrate experience with end of month accounting processes through to tax compliance and reporting. Strong exposure to tax will be a real competitive advantage for you. Strong attention to detail, coupled with an ability to take ownership of your role while working to deadlines will be key. Good Excel skills will be necessary, along with experience working on an ERP system.
