Auburn, Drive for Life needs a part time 15 hours per week Admin Assistant to provide efficient logistical support to the Drive for Life Program based across Auburn, Fairfield & Liverpool areas.

About the Drive for Life Program - Driving towards a better future
Drive for Life is a driver training and mentoring program that equips people who are overcoming adversity to obtain their drivers licence. The program removes the barriers and provides a pathway towards positive role models, developing independent life skills and improving employment prospects.
Providing equity in access to driving lessons and supervision
Improving employment and education opportunities for disadvantaged people
Helping people become experienced, safe and confident drivers
(Admin/Drive for Life support) Position Summary:
Enter participant info into SAMIS data base, keep files up to date (entering of simple case notes and changing of stage participant is up to)
Communicating with new expressions of interest/internal & external referrals to Drive for Life. (explanation of the program structure, waiting lists or alike)
Booking appointments for New Participant assessments
Undertaking New participant assessments on occasion
Booking appointments with Driving schools for new participants
Follow up phone calls with Driving school for participant feedback
Follow up phone calls with participants to check progress
On occasion using Drive for Life vehicle to take participants to Services NSW to undertake booked tests
On occasion help participants prepare for DKT & HPT, computer tests
To be successful in the role you will have:
The ability to facilitate intake and assessments for young people
An appreciation of and the ability and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
The ability to provide excellent customer focus in a friendly and helpful manner, the ability to communicate clearly and confidently with community members, driving instructors and departmental staff both in person and over the telephone.
Competence in the use of Word, Excel, databases and other information systems ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
The ability to interact positively with young people, parents and co-workers
The ability to manage driving lesson schedules for driving instructors and young people.
The ability to maintain a good working knowledge of current issues relating to matters affecting young people with disabilities and their families.
