A rare opportunity now exists for an Accounts Receivable Officer to join the Finance team based at Mercure Perth.

The role of the Accounts Receivable requires a variety of commercial as well as soft skills. This opportunity is both interesting and demanding, offering a great deal of involvement in risk assessment, reporting, business analysis and team coaching.

You will report directly to the Financial Controller/Assistant Financial Controller.

Key responsibilities include:
Reviewing client accounts on a regular basis and escalate risk issues to the Financial Controller
Taking a proactive approach to the continuing development and maintenance of the credit policy and ensuring that policies are up to date
Performing credit assessment of customer applications for new accounts and credit limit reviews of existing customers.
Ensuring prompt processing of credit applications
Completing month end reporting requirements.
Conducting monthly credit meetings.
Developing and maintaining strong, productive relationships with internal departments.
Promptly investigate all credit card disputes, liaising with Front Office team and the banks.
Reconciling credit cards on a daily basis
Ensure Open Folios and PM accounts are checked on daily basis and transferred to city ledger within 48hrs from the departure date.
Prepare allowances to be given out to guests that require this as part of their contract
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience in a credit management environment. Ideally a hotel/resort environment.
Outstanding business acumen including strong appreciation of the relationship between the credit, accounting, production and sales functions is essential
Outstanding customer service skills with proven experience of resolving complex issues successfully
Fully experienced in credit risk reviews
Strong commercial sensibility and understand of commercial issues
Broad experience in financial controls and procedures
Computer literate - Excel and Word essential, including a working knowledge of relevant PMS and ideally POS systems – Opera or Micros
