Job Summary:
Kennedys is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team, based in Sydney. The successful Accounts Assistant will be responsible for the full set of accounts for one of our business entities.

Kennedys Finance team support the firm globally producing timely and accurate financial and management information, reporting solutions and operational support to maintain the high standard of service offered to the firm’s internal and external clients internationally.
The Accounts Assistant will work closely with, and report into, the Finance Manager in Sydney as well as the wider, global Finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Identify deposits in the Trust Account and advise the appropriate Partner
Process Trust payments
Enter disbursements on matters and close matters as requested
Void cheques and reverse vouchers on Elite
Set up client/matter rates and backdate matters
Create payors
Obtain foreign exchange rates to pay foreign currency invoices
Take credit card payments over the phone for invoices
Answer queries from the business
Deal with requests for conduct money or any pre-payment requirements
Submit expenses from Chrome River to Elite
Manage Petty Cash
Manage payment of phone accounts
Data entry of office expenses
Process GlobalX invoices and processing disbursements ex PSG
Create vouchers associated with AMEX.
Required experience
Experience in a similar role, ideally for at 1-2 years, preferably in the Legal or other professional services industry
Commitment to delivering a professional service to the highest standards with a strong focus on client service
Self-motivated
Excellent attention to detail skills
Ability to follow instructions and be a proactive team player
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a confident telephone manner and strong writing skills
Good level of IT skills, including Word and Excel
Ideally a working knowledge of Elite 3E or similar financial systems
ITE/Diploma/professional qualification in accountancy would be advantageous.
