Job Details: About our team
SIMEC Mining, a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW. Our Tahmoor Colliery in New South Wales, is an underground longwall coal mine with an associated coal preparation plant, producing high quality coking coal for global markets. Located near the scenic Southern Highlands and only a 45-minute drive to the idyllic beaches of the South Coast.

About the role
Reporting into the Commercial Manager at Tahmoor, the focus of this role is to provide commercial and financial support to our mine. You will be partnering with key stakeholders in order to drive value and build commercial acumen.

You will also;

Be the face of the commercial team on site, providing strategic commercial advice
Partner with leaders and their teams to improve financial and commercial performance
Contribute to the end of month financial process and develop reporting tools to effectively analyse and communicate results
Support the onsite teams through all project milestones and assist with business case development
Work collaboratively with operational teams to develop annual business plans and quarterly forecast for the Steel Products unit.
About your experience

You will be an analytical individual who can inspire and communicate well with stakeholders of all levels.

You will also have;

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Economics
CPA or CA qualification or studying towards highly regarded
Previous experience working in a complex commercial and operational environment
Strong analytical abilities and financial reporting skills with a good knowledge of financial methodologies
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across the business.
